Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Gites (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amun Ra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gites might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Eminem - Above The Law . I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Amun Ra was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Gites! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Amun Ra! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gites misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gites with a body punch. A glancing blow. Gites throws a right and a left that Ra avoids nicely. Gites throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Ra prevents Gites from breaking the clinch. Ra breaks the clinch.
Gites fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ra avoids it really well and circles away. John Gites seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big right from Ra misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Gites. Ra does a little dance to reset his feet. No joy there for Ra, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gites tries for a takedown but Ra circles away easily and Ra counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Ra lands a head shot. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gites will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ra throws out a loose jab but Gites uses good head movement to avoid it. Ra throws a jab but it's blocked by Gites. Gites tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gites steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ra. Gites jabs Ra right on the nose. Ra blinks but takes it well. Gites feints and as Ra raises his hands in defense, Gites changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gites accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gites stopping the sweep attempt from Ra. Ra is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Ra is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gites passes Ra's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ra wants to improve his position but Gites is controlling well.
Gites not doing much here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gites wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ra keeps working. Ra keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ra tries to roll over but Gites keeps him under control. Gites is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gites is thwarting Ra's attempts to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ra keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Gites thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gites wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ra keeps working. Gites looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ra with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ra moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Gites makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Gites is looking to work some ground and pound but Ra has wrist control. Ra utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ra is trying to keep Gites in close.
Gites throws a strike but Ra rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Gites is trying to keep Ra in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ra passes into half guard. Ra lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Ra wants to free his trapped foot but Gites is holding on for dear life with his legs. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gites moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Gites working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ra. Ra postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ra slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Ra postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Gites has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ra can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Gites will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Gites shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ra's guard. Ra pulls Gites in close to prevent any damage. Gites has gone for a leg lock! Ra slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gites's guard. Ra cracks Gites with a solid left hand. Ra wants to control from the top but Gites keeps moving. Gites had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ra defends it easily. Gites has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ra with a flurry of punches that miss. Ra seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gites has momentary wrist control but Ra slips an elbow through the middle.
Gites is rocked! Ra must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ra's corner is telling him to maintain position. Oh Gites is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Gites wants to hit a switch here but Ra passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Gites there! Gites takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Ra's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Amun Ra! In defeat, John Gites stepped up to the mic, saying 'Time for me to call it quits and become a spar bot.'.
