Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wee Ning (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank has chosen Ball Game as his entrance music. Wee Ning has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wee Ning!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Frank!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frank getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Frank scores with a spinning back kick!

Frank has managed to clinch.
Frank lands with a light punch inside.
A nice right hand lands inside from Frank.
Frank working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Frank working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Frank breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Frank throws a hook but Ning avoids it easily.
Frank paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Tony Frank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ning misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Frank.
Ning misses with a takedown
and Frank counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Frank connects with a nice looking jab.
Frank misses with a low kick.

Ning closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Frank did well to prevent Ning getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ning is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Frank defends it well.
Frank wants to get back to his feet.
Ning frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Frank swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Frank prevents Ning from taking his back.
Poor strikes thrown by Ning there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Ning is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Frank has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Frank!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Frank is stalling in the full guard.
Frank is looking to work some ground and pound but Ning has wrist control.

Frank wants to control from the top but Ning keeps moving.
Frank must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Frank might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ning haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Ning tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tony Frank was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Frank takes the fight into the clinch.

Ning tries to pull guard but Frank holds him up against the cage and eventually Ning drops back down to his feet.

Nice body punch from Frank - that landed with a thud.
Frank lands a left hand.

Ning throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Frank escapes and throws Ning's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Ning is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Frank tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


The fight stays on the outside here - Frank looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Frank tries to clinch but Ning moves out of range.
Ning wants to clinch but Frank slips to the side

and Frank counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ning won't be happy with that.
Ning is looking to reverse the position.
Frank content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Frank wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ning keeps working.

Frank goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ning has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Frank but great work by Ning.

Frank is trying to buck Ning off.
Frank manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Frank wants to take a breather but Ning is having none of it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Frank connects with a nice short shot to Ning's temple.
Frank thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ning taking some punishment here, with Frank in his half guard.

Ning looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Ning is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Personal Training, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Frank lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Frank is keen to just control but Ning is a slippery customer.

Frank is nestled in close to Ning, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Frank accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Frank postures up in Ning's guard and throws a big left but Ning blocks it.
Ning avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Frank showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Ning misses with a low kick as Frank jumps back.
A punch lands to the side of Ning 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Frank throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ning on the side of the head.
Ning takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Ning is not content to let Frank control the position.
Frank throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Frank takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Frank not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Frank lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Frank is working for a kimura but Ning is defending it quite comfortably.
Ning is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Frank scores with a couple of nice shots.

Ning is looking for a sweep. Frank is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Frank is trying to control the action in half guard but Ning is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Frank is taking a breather. Ning says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Frank seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Frank looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ning with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Frank is nestled in close to Ning, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Frank lands with a punch from half guard.
Frank with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Ning tries to get to full guard but Frank has control of the leg.

Frank working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Frank is looking for a kimura but Ning is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Frank to get the leverage.
Tony Frank is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Frank is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ning has managed to free his arm - good work.

Well Frank has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
