Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Delmar Robbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven Aoki is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Delmar Robbins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steven Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Aoki lands an impressive looking overhand right. Robbins doesn't seem phased though.
Aoki takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Aoki fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Aoki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Aoki tries to clinch up
and Robbins counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Aoki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Robbins swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Robbins.
Robbins throws a one two combo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Robbins stuffs the takedown attempt from Aoki. Aoki gets slowly back to his feet.
Delmar Robbins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Aoki.

Aoki drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Robbins can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aoki tries to move to mount but Robbins blocks the move with his legs.

Aoki decides to stand back up.
Robbins throws a series of punches but Aoki avoids them all with ease.

Robbins closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Robbins lands in his opponent's guard.
Robbins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Robbins loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Robbins content to stall in guard here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Delmar Robbins.
Aoki throws a hook but Robbins avoids it easily.
Aoki darts in trying to clinch
and Robbins counters with a nice kick to the body.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Robbins but Robbins pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aoki.
Aoki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Robbins swivels and escapes.
Robbins leaves Aoki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Aoki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Aoki misses with a takedown attempt - Robbins sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Aoki goes for a double leg but Robbins avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Robbins continues to drive forward.

Robbins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Robbins shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Robbins showed some decent athleticism there.

Robbins decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Robbins shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Aoki napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Aoki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Robbins's waist but Robbins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aoki off to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Robbins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Robbins swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Aoki.
Robbins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Aoki.
Aoki shoots in and drives through. Robbins sprawls well.
Aoki misses with a jab, cross combination.
Robbins scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Robbins gets a clinch.
Aoki fails to pull guard.
Robbins blocks an uppercut.
Aoki is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Robbins gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Delmar Robbins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Aoki.

Robbins pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Robbins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Robbins wants it to stay on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Aoki.
Aoki is breathing heavily.

Robbins darts in and clinches Aoki up against the cage.

Aoki wants to stand but Robbins is controlling his posture from full guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Aoki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Aoki misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Robbins shoots in and bounces Aoki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Robbins wants to pass the guard but Aoki is keeping the position.

Aoki is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Steven Aoki.

Robbins gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Aoki has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Robbins avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Aoki tries to circle away but Robbins has him pinned against the cage.
Robbins keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Aoki's efforts to push away.
Robbins stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Robbins is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Aoki can't fight it off and eventually Robbins manages to take the fight to the floor. Aoki looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Robbins looks to land a combination. Aoki sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Robbins closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Aoki did well to prevent Robbins getting side control.
Aoki has a hand on Robbins's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Robbins takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Robbins avoids the attempt from Aoki to control.
Aoki wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Robbins.

Aoki sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Robbins is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Aoki tries to get to full guard but Robbins has control of the leg.
Robbins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Robbins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aoki on the ground.

Aoki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Robbins pulls his head out easily.

Aoki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Robbins is working away from the top position though.
Robbins takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Robbins is working for a kimura but Aoki is defending it quite comfortably.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

And that's the end of the fight!
Delmar Robbins showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Robbins has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
