Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patricia Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Delphinus Beirne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Delphinus Beirne!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Beirne does a little dance to reset his feet.
Smith tries to bum rush Beirne with a series of wild strikes but Beirne uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Beirne stuffs the takedown.
Smith leaves Beirne with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Beirne tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Beirne manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Smith goes for a double leg but Beirne avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Beirne continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patricia Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith pulls guard successfully.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Smith looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Smith seems keen to control Beirne's posture.
Smith might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Smith looking for a guillotine here but Beirne defends easily.

Smith looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Beirne puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Beirne looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Smith is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Smith is trying for a kimura here. Beirne looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Smith wins by kimura!
