Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Pitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Nogueira's choice of entrance music: World Police - Rio Heroes. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitt scores with a takedown into Nogueira's guard.
Pitt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nogueira on the ground.
Nogueira can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pitt controls the pace.
Pitt avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nogueira wants to sweep here but Pitt controlling him for the moment.
Pitt distracts Nogueira with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Pitt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Nogueira gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Pitt tries to stand but Nogueira is controlling from the bottom.

Nogueira had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pitt is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nogueira Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pitt's back instead.
Nogueira has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Pitt tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nogueira blocks Pitt's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Pitt tries to hold on but Nogueira postures up.

Pitt wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Nogueira.

Nogueira moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Pitt has worked his arm free - good work by Pitt!

Pitt tries to bench press Nogueira off him but Nogueira keeps the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Pitt has Nogueira up against the cage in a clinch.

Pitt is looking for a triangle but Nogueira pushes his legs off easily.

Pitt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nogueira gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Nogueira closes the distance but Pitt moves to the side
and Pitt counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Pitt is looking to clinch but Nogueira is avoiding it.
Pitt fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Dick Pitt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Pitt counters with a shoot takedown. Nogueira fights it but they end up in guard.
Nogueira can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pitt controls the pace.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pitt is looking to stand up but Nogueira won't let him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pitt wants to get up but he can't break Nogueira's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Pitt controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Pitt works a leg free and moves into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pitt escapes and gets back to his feet.
Pitt moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Pitt lands a head kick. Nogueira smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Nogueira tries for a takedown but Pitt circles away easily
and Pitt counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nogueira's guard now.
Pitt has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Nogueira is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Dick Pitt just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pitt connects with a nice short shot to Nogueira's temple.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well Pitt has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
