The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benjawan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Benjawan prevents Valdemes from improving his position.
Valdemes manages to get to full guard.
Benjawan stands and throws Valdemes's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Valdemes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Benjawan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Valdemes sneaks back into half guard.
Valdemes won't allow Benjawan to pass to mount.
Benjawan wants to stand but Valdemes has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Valdemes manages to get to full guard.
Benjawan wants to control from the top but Valdemes keeps moving.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Valdemes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Benjawan defends it easily.
Valdemes is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Benjawan frees his head nicely. Oh but Valdemes has switched to an armbar! Benjawan is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
