2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tamba Watson! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watson cracks a nice hook into Peri's ribs. Excellent takedown into side control there by Peri. Watson pushes Peri away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Peri gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Peri trying to control the position but Watson is working away. Watson is looking for a sweep. Watson is still trying to improve position. Peri wants to lay and pray for a moment but Watson keeps working. Peri is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Watson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Watson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Peri trying to control the action but Watson is working from the bottom. Watson wants to control but Peri postures up.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Watson lands a glancing blow to the side of Peri's head. Peri closes the distance and clinches up with Watson, looking for a takedown. Peri pushes Watson against the cage but Watson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Peri looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Watson throws a good cross that connects.

Let's see if he can advance position further. Peri wants to take a breather but Watson is having none of it. Watson is trying to control but can't.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Peri wants to get up but he can't break Watson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Peri is breathing heavily. Watson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Peri wants to control from the top but Watson keeps moving. Watson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Peri works a leg free and moves into half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Peri is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Watson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

That was a close round but I would say that Adam Peri will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Adam Peri's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Adam Peri just wasn't active enough. Peri shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Watson's guard. Peri is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Peri wants to control from the top but Watson keeps moving. Peri might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Adam Peri has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Watson gets caught napping as Peri dives in and scores a takedown. Watson manages to retain guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Watson is looking for a triangle but Peri pushes his legs off easily.

Peri pushes down on Watson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Peri is trying to control the action in half guard but Watson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peri content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Adam Peri wasn't doing enough on the ground. Watson scores with a jab to the body. Peri on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Jab, jab by Watson - just one landing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Peri drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Watson jabs Peri to the body, keeping him at a distance. Tamba Watson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Watson lands with a shot to the body. Watson cracks Peri with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Watson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Peri to stand back up!
Peri is rocked! Watson throws a pinpoint strike between Peri's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Peri crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Watson scores a great knockout victory!
