Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bill Ferrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mashed Spuds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ferrell comes to the cage accompanied by Gators speech. Bill Ferrell had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spuds shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Ferrell counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We've been hearing that Ferrell has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ferrell throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spuds can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bill Ferrell.

Spuds tries to sprawl but Ferrell drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Spuds gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ferrell to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Ferrell stays in close to Spuds's body and controls the position.
Spuds really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ferrell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Spuds is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ferrell dives into side control.

Spuds wants to clinch up but Ferrell keeps it at a distance.
Spuds closes the distance and clinches up with Ferrell, looking for a takedown. Spuds pushes Ferrell against the cage but Ferrell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Spuds enables Ferrell to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Spuds manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
