Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Crisanto Pitpitunge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forrest Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Crisanto Pitpitunge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Forrest Griffin! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pitpitunge closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pitpitunge lands in his opponent's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Griffin wants to get back to his feet but Pitpitunge is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Pitpitunge wants to stand but Griffin has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Griffin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pitpitunge distracts Griffin with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Pitpitunge looking to pass the guard. Griffin uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Griffin stuffs the takedown attempt from Pitpitunge. Pitpitunge gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pitpitunge defends well and Griffin ends up having to push Pitpitunge into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Griffin is trying to trip Pitpitunge. He has hold of a leg but Pitpitunge is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Griffin persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Griffin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pitpitunge is keeping the position for now. Pitpitunge looking to control.
Griffin tries to free his leg and advance position but Pitpitunge is retaining full guard. Pitpitunge had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Griffin defends it easily. Griffin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pitpitunge is looking to stand back up but Griffin counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Pitpitunge. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Griffin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Pitpitunge is trying to maintain the position but Griffin is very close to passing his half guard. Pitpitunge is looking to improve his position.
Pitpitunge keeping hold of Griffin's head, controlling as best he can. Pitpitunge wants to control but Griffin passes into side.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pitpitunge is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Griffin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Pitpitunge tries to roll over but Griffin keeps him under control. Pitpitunge slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Griffin stands up from guard. Let's bang! Pitpitunge defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Griffin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pitpitunge swats him away and circles back towards the center. Griffin fails with a takedown attempt. Crisanto Pitpitunge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Forrest Griffin. Griffin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Pitpitunge closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Griffin quickly recovers to half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Griffin wants to get back to his feet.
Griffin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Griffin looks winded! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Griffin trying to control here.
Griffin is staying active underneath Pitpitunge, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Crisanto Pitpitunge will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Griffin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pitpitunge sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Pitpitunge. Pitpitunge misses with a head kick.
Griffin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pitpitunge manages to avoid it. Pitpitunge misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pitpitunge will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Griffin tries to clinch there but Pitpitunge circles away.
Crisanto Pitpitunge is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The fight stays on the outside here - Pitpitunge looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Griffin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pitpitunge tries to control but Griffin manages to take his back. Griffin controlling well, preventing Pitpitunge from escaping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Will Griffin go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Griffin is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Pitpitunge staying busy and making it hard for Griffin to control. Pitpitunge defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Griffin's arms. Pitpitunge tries to roll but Griffin sticks to his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Pitpitunge!
Pitpitunge looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Griffin is riding his opponent, not letting Pitpitunge buck him off. Griffin lands punches and elbows. Pitpitunge tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Pitpitunge regains half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Griffin wants to free his trapped foot but Pitpitunge is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pitpitunge trying to control but Griffin postures up.
Forrest Griffin has got the better of the ground game so far. Pitpitunge is trying to get back to full guard. Griffin tries to stand but his arm is trapped. The fighters are battling for position here. Pitpitunge manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pitpitunge trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Griffin trying to control but Pitpitunge is working from the bottom. Griffin is working away from the top position though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Griffin works his foot free and advances to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Forrest Griffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Pitpitunge dives in and grabs Griffin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Griffin pushes down on Pitpitunge's head and hops out. Pitpitunge swats away the attempt to clinch by Griffin. Griffin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Griffin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Griffin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Griffin throws a leg kick and Pitpitunge moves into the clinch. Pitpitunge breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pitpitunge tries to score a power double leg takedown but Griffin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pitpitunge somewhat. Pitpitunge closes the distance and clinches. Griffin breaks the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Pitpitunge breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pitpitunge fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Pitpitunge fails with a takedown attempt. Griffin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pitpitunge napping and manages to drive through into side control! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Griffin trying to control the position but Pitpitunge is working away. Pitpitunge being controlled for a moment. Pitpitunge is looking to reverse the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pitpitunge keeps working. Pitpitunge taking punishment in the form of punches.
Pitpitunge is being controlled here. Griffin working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Pitpitunge is looking to reverse the position. You can see the frustration on Pitpitunge's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pitpitunge tries to bench press Griffin off him but Griffin keeps the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Griffin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Griffin takes a little break here. Pitpitunge wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Griffin wants to control but Pitpitunge is keeping him busy. Griffin working away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Griffin controls the position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Pitpitunge is pushing Griffin's head away, looking to escape. Griffin manages to hold on to the position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Forrest Griffin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Griffin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
