Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roosevelt Stafford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adnan Mercury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercury will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Stafford swats away the attempt to clinch by Mercury.
Stafford throws out a leg kick but Mercury moves out of range and Stafford only half commits.
Stafford really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mercury bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
It looks like Roosevelt Stafford has been cut.
Mercury tries to close the distance and clinch but Stafford swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mercury shoots for a double leg takedown but Stafford sprawls well. He's pushed Mercury's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mercury wants to control the action here but instead Stafford manages to pass to full mount!

Horrible takedown by Mercury or perhaps it was just good defense by Stafford which made him look bad.

Stafford is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Mercury has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Stafford goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Mercury escapes and is now in half guard on top.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Mercury looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stafford is one step ahead there.
Mercury isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Stafford stacks Mercury on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Stafford!
Stafford cracks Mercury with a big right hand but Mercury just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
