Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Martin Hewitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Singer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tony Singer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Martin Hewitt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Singer! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hewitt blocks a jab. Singer is looking to slow Hewitt down with leg kicks. Hewitt with a lazy takedown attempt and Singer counters with a three punch combo that has Hewitt backing up. Hewitt nods at Singer to acknowledge the strikes. Hewitt shoots in looking for a takedown but Singer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hewitt's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Tony Singer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Singer misses with a few strikes there.
Hewitt has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. A telegraphed right hand from Hewitt misses the target. Hewitt throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Singer misses with a low kick.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Singer enables Hewitt to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Singer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hewitt prevents Singer from getting back to his feet. Hewitt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Singer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hewitt, into his guard. Hewitt is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Singer is aware though and is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hewitt controls Singer momentarily but Singer frees himself. Hewitt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hewitt looking for a guillotine here but Singer defends easily.
Hewitt wants to sweep here but Singer controlling him for the moment. Hewitt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Singer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hewitt had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Singer defends it easily. Hewitt tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hewitt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Singer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Singer is looking to stand up but Hewitt won't let him. Hewitt has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Singer is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hewitt. Hewitt is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hewitt is trying to maintain the position but Singer is very close to passing his half guard. Singer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hewitt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hewitt is looking to improve his position.
Singer is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Hewitt trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hewitt wants to control but Singer is having none of it. Hewitt is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hewitt wants to control but Singer is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Singer tries to control but Hewitt wriggling away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Martin Hewitt dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Hewitt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hewitt has a takedown stuffed. Singer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Singer fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hewitt checks it well. Hewitt moves out of range of the strikes. Hewitt drives through with a takedown into guard. Hewitt slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hewitt is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Singer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Singer is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hewitt asserts his dominance and retains side control. Singer felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hewitt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Hewitt is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Singer has escaped the position, nice work there. Hewitt goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Singer rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hewitt's guard! Nice work there by Singer!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hewitt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hewitt has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Singer doesn't defend quickly enough and Hewitt has managed to lock this one up! Can Singer escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hewitt on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Martin Hewitt! After winning the bout, Martin Hewitt thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
