Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anders Mousasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mousasi's entrance music is Bassie en Adriaan. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mousasi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Nice defenses there by Brown.
Brown doesn't manage to clinch there - Mousasi circles away.
Horrible takedown by Mousasi or perhaps it was just good defense by Brown which made him look bad.
Brown throws a head kick that misses.

Mousasi scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Mousasi wants to pass the guard but Brown is defending well.
Mousasi passes the guard and advances to mount!

Brown defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Mousasi.

Mousasi working for a submission but Brown is keeping him at bay.

Brown holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Mousasi tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Brown tries to hold on but Mousasi pushes him away.
Brown tries to reverse the position but Mousasi maintains control.
Brown really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mousasi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mousasi with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Brown wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Brown wants to hold on but Mousasi pushes him away.
Mousasi lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brown can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Brown tries to hold on but Mousasi pushes him away.

Mousasi goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Brown is on top in guard.

Mousasi has his foot on Brown's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brown works his way back into a safe position though.

Brown seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brown stands and throws Mousasi's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Brown stands up and beckons Mousasi to his feet.
Brown throws a nice inside leg kick.
Brown is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Brown looks to score with a jab to the body but Mousasi is just out of range.

That was a close round but I would say that Anders Mousasi will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mousasi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Dexter Brown.
Brown looks to land a left hand but Mousasi moved out of range nicely.
Anders Mousasi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mousasi shoots in and drives through. Brown sprawls well.
Brown tries to bum rush Mousasi with a series of wild strikes but Mousasi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Mousasi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mousasi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brown takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Mousasi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Brown can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Mousasi seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Brown is holding on tight.

Mousasi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Brown looks a forlorn figure.

Mousasi has control of Brown's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Brown regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Brown is in all sorts of trouble here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Brown tries to hold on but Mousasi pushes him away.

That was a close second round but I would say that Anders Mousasi will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Mousasi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brown looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brown uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mousasi has time to react.

Brown is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mousasi.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Dexter Brown.
Brown throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Dexter Brown is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Brown's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Brown manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Brown receives a warning from the referee for stalling.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Mousasi is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Brown is keeping busy.

Mousasi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brown can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mousasi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
