Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quentin Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Wrestler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quentin Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Wrestler!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes shoots in for a double leg but Wrestler sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Reyes misses with a body kick.
Wrestler tries to clinch but Reyes is having none of it.

Wrestler has taken the fight to the clinch.
Wrestler effectively controlling the action here.
Reyes tries to break the clinch but Wrestler is controlling the position.

Wrestler breaks from the clinch.
Reyes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wrestler as he jumps to the side.
Reyes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wrestler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Reyes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Wrestler counters with a leg kick.

Reyes goes for a double leg but Wrestler avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wrestler continues to drive forward.

Wrestler is trying to trip Reyes. He has hold of a leg but Reyes is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wrestler persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Wrestler wants to control from the top but Reyes keeps moving.
Wrestler's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Reyes seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Wrestler not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bob Wrestler.
Reyes keeps the fight on the outside.
Wrestler fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Reyes is out of range.
Wrestler tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reyes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Reyes darts in looking for a takedown but Wrestler gets double underhooks and turns Reyes into the cage.

Wrestler manages to break the clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Wrestler has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Wrestler slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Wrestler moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Quentin Reyes has been cut.
Reyes moves out of range as Wrestler strikes.
Reyes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wrestler circles away.
Wrestler fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wrestler tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reyes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wrestler somewhat.

Reyes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wrestler doesn't manage to clinch there - Reyes circles away.

Reyes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Wrestler shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Reyes napping and manages to drive through into side control!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Poor strikes thrown by Wrestler there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Reyes tries to hold on but Wrestler pushes him away.
Wrestler thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Wrestler shoots in looking for a takedown. Reyes tries to sprawl out of it but Wrestler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reyes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Reyes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wrestler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wrestler throws a half hearted mid kick.
Reyes is looking to clinch but Wrestler is avoiding it.
Reyes swings for the body but Wrestler moves out of range.
Quentin Reyes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Reyes throws a head kick that misses

and Wrestler counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Reyes working a defensive guard but Wrestler passes into half guard.
Wrestler looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Reyes flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Reyes keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Reyes pushes Wrestler off looking to stand but Wrestler dives back in and keeps control.

Wrestler works his way into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Reyes is trying to get back to half guard.
Wrestler is putting a hurting on Reyes here, landing some big shots from side control.

Reyes tries to roll over but Wrestler keeps him under control.
Wrestler thows a huge punch but Reyes dodges it nicely.
The fighters are battling for position here. Reyes manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Reyes is working an open guard so Wrestler takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Wrestler shoots in but no luck this time.
Wrestler swings for the body but Reyes moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wrestler tries to clinch there but Reyes circles away.

Wrestler moves into range and clinches up with Reyes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wrestler has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Reyes after a bit of a struggle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Wrestler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Wrestler throws a combination that misses
letting Reyes counter with a right hand.
Reyes dives in for a single leg takedown but Wrestler sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Wrestler tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Reyes smiles and moves away.

Reyes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wrestler sprawls well. Wrestler wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Reyes gets slowly back to his feet.

Wrestler throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Reyes's head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nice takedown defense from Wrestler. No joy for Reyes on that attempt.

Wrestler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wrestler passes Reyes's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Wrestler seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Reyes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Reyes is refusing to be controlled, as Wrestler sits in half guard.
Reyes is looking to improve his position.

Reyes is trying to stand up here but Wrestler is controlling him well.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Reyes wants to control but Wrestler is keeping busy.

Wrestler is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Reyes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wrestler.

Wrestler is trying to work for a kimura but Reyes is defending well.

Reyes looking for submissions off his back.
Wrestler tries to stand and escape but Reyes is controlling the position.
Wrestler trying to control from half guard but Reyes is working away.
Wrestler stalling away here and it's allowed Reyes to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Well Wrestler has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
