Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ezequiel Sloan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Delphinus Beirne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Delphinus Beirne has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ezequiel Sloan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Delphinus Beirne!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloan pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sloan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Beirne sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Sloan closes the distance and clinches.
Sloan pressing his opponent against the cage.

Sloan manages to pull guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Sloan throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Sloan has Beirne pulled in close to control his posture.
Sloan wants to sweep here but Beirne controlling him for the moment.

Sloan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Beirne wants to stand but Sloan is controlling his posture from full guard.

Ezequiel Sloan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Sloan misses with a body kick.
Sloan shoots in for a takedown but Beirne shows good takedown defense.
Horrible takedown by Sloan or perhaps it was just good defense by Beirne which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ezequiel Sloan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sloan moves into range and clinches up with Beirne.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sloan working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Beirne wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Sloan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sloan shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Beirne tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Sloan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sloan keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Sloan stands up from half guard.
Beirne is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sloan avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Ezequiel Sloan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloan takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Beirne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sloan dives in for a single leg takedown but Beirne sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Sloan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Beirne tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sloan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Beirne defends well and Sloan ends up having to push Beirne into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Sloan presses Beirne against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Sloan lands a takedown into guard.

Beirne looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Sloan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Beirne, up you get!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sloan gets a double leg takedown into Beirne's guard.
Sloan is breathing heavily.
Sloan is in close to Beirne's body, working some short punches and elbows.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sloan advances to half guard.
Sloan missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ezequiel Sloan dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Beirne shoots in looking for a takedown but Sloan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Beirne's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Beirne throws a leg kick but Sloan sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Sloan tries to work over Beirne's front leg with a kick but Beirne checks it.
Beirne throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sloan closes the distance and clinches.

Sloan breaks the clinch.
Sloan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sloan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Beirne gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sloan stands up from Beirne's guard - Sloan perhaps looking for a knockout.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Beirne tries to sprawl but Sloan drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sloan moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Beirne.
Beirne wants to get back to his feet but Sloan is dominant here and he's now got Beirne's back!
Sloan keeps control of the position as Beirne tries to break free.
Sloan biding his time, looking for the opening.
Beirne is really stuck here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sloan controlling the position well here. Beirne rolled but Sloan kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Sloan lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Sloan just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sloan is not going to allow Beirne to sit and survive in this position.

Sloan working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Sloan has his arm under Beirne's chin here. Game over son! Sloan squeezes tightly and Beirne is forced to tap out!
