Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Franco Rivera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Hernandez! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rivera doesn't manage to clinch there - Hernandez circles away.
Rivera misses with a wild body shot. Rivera definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Hernandez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hernandez fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hernandez swings for the body but Rivera moves out of range.

Rivera is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hernandez, into his guard. Rivera's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Rivera is refusing to be controlled, as Hernandez sits in half guard. Hernandez throws a strike but Rivera avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hernandez works over Rivera with some ground and pound from guard. Rivera wants to sweep here but Hernandez controlling him for the moment. Rivera trying to keep a closed guard but Hernandez is proving a slippery customer.
Hernandez tries to free his leg and advance position but Rivera is retaining full guard. Hernandez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hernandez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rivera works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hernandez is looking to pass into half guard but Rivera pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Rivera is in guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hernandez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rivera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Hernandez is tightening it up a little... Rivera has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Rivera reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Rivera taps out! Nice BJJ there by Hernandez!
