Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Miyamoto Musashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riley Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshall has chosen I Shot the Sheriff by Eric Clapton as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Riley Marshall! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Musashi tries to clinch but fails miserably and Marshall counters with a good, hard body kick but Musashi shrugs it off. Marshall keeps the fight on the outside. Musashi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Marshall. Musashi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Musashi wants to clinch up but Marshall keeps it at a distance. Musashi tries to clinch and Marshall counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Musashi fails with an attempt to clinch.
Musashi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Marshall manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Musashi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Marshall ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Musashi moves away. Musashi fails with an attempt to clinch.

Marshall clobbers Musashi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Musashi throws an overhand right that lands on Marshall's shoulder, as Marshall tries to avoid the shot. Musashi misses with a wild combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Musashi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Marshall as he avoids it easily. Musashi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Miyamoto Musashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Musashi tries to clinch but fails miserably and Marshall counters with a right hand to the body. Marshall staying out of range there. Musashi avoids a kick to the body.
Musashi closes the distance and clinches. Marshall lands an uppercut. Marshall tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Marshall slows down the pace here.

Marshall connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. This has been an exciting period of action! Musashi tries to clinch up but Marshall circles away and keeps his distance. Musashi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Marshall defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miyamoto Musashi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Musashi moves into range and clinches up with Marshall. Marshall taking a breather. Marshall throws a punch but it's blocked by Musashi. Musashi takes a knee to the side of the body. Musashi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Musashi darts in looking for a takedown but Marshall gets double underhooks and turns Musashi into the cage. Marshall scores a nice knee to the body.

Both fighters working to control the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A quick uppercut on the inside from Marshall. Marshall makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Marshall misses with the head strike.

A chopping leg kick lands by Musashi. Riley Marshall seems to be getting the better of the standup. Musashi throws a lazy head kick and Marshall counters with a stiff right hand. Musashi shoots in for a takedown but Marshall shows good takedown defense. Musashi falls off balance throwing a combination
and Marshall counters with a stiff right hand. Musashi wants to clinch. Musashi closes the distance looking to clinch and Marshall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Marshall fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Musashi, pushing him back against the cage. Marshall is stalling here.

That's one minute gone in the round. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Marshall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Musashi uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Marshall has time to react. Marshall uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Musashi. Musashi clinches up with Marshall and pushes him back against the cage. Marshall misses with some punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Marshall stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Musashi tries to clinch up but Marshall circles away and keeps his distance. Musashi wants to clinch. Musashi wants to clinch but Marshall slips to the side and Marshall counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! No joy there for Musashi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Musashi is rocked! Riley Marshall seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Marshall lands a right hand. Oh Musashi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Marshall misses with some punches.
