Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Galt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Galt's entrance music is State of the Union by Rise Against. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Jones!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galt takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Jones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jones lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nice jab there from Jones.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Galt circles away quickly and effectively.
Galt moves forwards but Jones connects with a nice, crisp jab.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones.
Galt swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Galt has taken the fight to the clinch.
Galt is trying to pull guard but Jones has him pressed against the cage.
Jones looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
I was talking to Galt's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Galt struggles to land a body shot inside as Jones controls his hands.
A frustrated look appears on Jones's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Galt doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Galt throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Galt goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Jones blocks an elbow strike.
Galt lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
Jones wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Jones is trying to break free.
Galt keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.
Jones has had enough of the clinch but Galt keeps him there for the moment.
Jones jumps guard but Galt turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Jones lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Galt!
A nice elbow there by Jones.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jones cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Galt tries to hold on but Jones postures up.
Jones prevents Galt from getting the reversal.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Galt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Galt has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Galt swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The crowd cheers as Galt lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jones doesn't seem phased though.
Jones connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Galt throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
Donk. Jones catches Galt right on the button with a cross.
A telegraphed right hand from Galt misses the target.
Galt takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Jones moves out of range of the strikes.
Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Galt.

Galt takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jones lands a jab.
Galt tries to land a leg kick but Jones saw it coming and moves away.
John Galt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jones lands with a nice body punch.
Galt tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones checks a low kick from Galt.
John Galt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jones misses with a two punch combination.
Jones blocks a head kick by Galt.
Galt doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Galt's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jones connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Galt scrambles back to his feet.

Galt has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Galt there as he acknowledges the shot.
Jones lunges at Galt with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Galt's hand.
Jones changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Galt tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jones uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Galt.
Galt thows a body shot but no joy.
Galt fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jones has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Galt takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Galt scores with a leg kick.
Jones shoots in but Galt avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jones misses with a series of wild punches.
Jones's corner calls for a 1-2. Jones obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Jones lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Jones fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Galt manages to avoid it.
Galt thows a body shot but no joy.
Galt fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jones looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nice sprawl there from Galt as Jones shoots in.
Paul Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jones fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Galt takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Jones moves out of range of the strikes.

Galt gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Galt tries to throw a body punch but Jones avoids it by throwing Galt back against the cage.
Jones is trying to break free.

Galt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Galt takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
John Galt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Jones.
Galt cracks Jones with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and Galt counters with a nice low kick that buckles Jones's knee momentarily.
Galt looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Jones looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Paul Jones will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

We've been informed that Jones has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Galt was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Galt is looking for a triangle but Jones pushes his legs off easily.
Jones trying to control but Galt is working from the bottom.
Jones stands up over Galt, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Galt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Galt is retaining full guard.
Galt trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.

Jones wants to control from the top but Galt keeps moving.
Jones landing with the ground and pound.

Galt has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.

Jones is in close to Galt's body, working some short punches and elbows.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Galt is on top in guard.
Jones has his hands on Galt's head, controlling the position.
Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy.
John Galt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Paul Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Jones is adopting a defensive guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Galt gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Galt.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Galt tries a low kick but Jones avoids it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Galt moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones.
You can see the frustration on Galt's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Jones is looking to take a break and control but Galt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jones prevents Galt from escaping the position.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Galt keeps working.
The referee asks Jones politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jones prefers to stall for the moment though.
Galt is trying to work for a sweep but Jones has mounted him!
Galt is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
