PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duang Dwing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BRANDON HOEK (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duang Dwing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, BRANDON HOEK!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dwing misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dwing looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

HOEK feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
HOEK pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dwing is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
HOEK wants to stand and escape but instead Dwing has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
HOEK pulls Dwing in close to prevent any damage.
Dwing wants to control from the top but HOEK keeps moving.

HOEK wants to sweep here but Dwing controlling him for the moment.
Dwing thows a big elbow that misses.
HOEK not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dwing tries to clinch but HOEK moves out of range.

HOEK closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dwing manages to work his way to half guard, despite HOEK's best efforts.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dwing has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. HOEK is working away from the top position though.
Dwing is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
HOEK is figuring out what he wants to do next.
HOEK's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
HOEK has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Dwing works to full guard.

Dwing looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! HOEK has picked Dwing up and slammed him! Dwing can't keep hold of the triangle and HOEK manages to pass to side control!

HOEK has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

HOEK scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dwing is breathing heavily.
Dwing is pressing down on HOEK's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
HOEK preventing the sweep.
HOEK looking to pass the guard.
HOEK really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dwing. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
HOEK trying to control but Dwing is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
HOEK throws a big right hand that misses.
Dwing throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Dwing is trying to keep HOEK in close.
HOEK is looking to stand up but Dwing won't let him.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Dwing tries to clinch but HOEK is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

BRANDON HOEK dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Dwing shoots and misses

Dwing is refusing to be controlled, as HOEK sits in half guard.

HOEK escapes and gets back to his feet.
Dwing looks to clinch

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Dwing looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
HOEK prevents Dwing from improving his position.
BRANDON HOEK has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with HOEK in particular looking to stall.
Dwing won't allow HOEK to pass to mount.
HOEK trying to control from Dwing's half guard. Dwing has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
HOEK wants to stand but Dwing has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Dwing looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Dwing not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dwing isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. HOEK stacks Dwing on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by HOEK!
HOEK tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
HOEK is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Dwing's shoulder. That is not cool.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dwing tries to escape but HOEK is in control.

HOEK decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dwing to his feet.
Dwing throws a leg kick that is checked
and HOEK finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Dwing gets caught flat footed, as HOEK shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
HOEK throwing strikes from guard but Dwing blocks nicely.
HOEK trying to control the position from guard on top but Dwing is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
HOEK content to stall in guard here.
HOEK postures up.

Dwing has his feet on HOEK's thighs here. He's pushed HOEK off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! HOEK screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
