Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeromy Mccullough!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyron Woodley!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodley has a takedown stuffed.

Woodley dives in and scores a takedown into Mccullough's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mccullough is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mccullough wants to stand and escape but Woodley is having none of it.
Mccullough controls Woodley momentarily but Woodley frees himself.
Woodley wants to stand and escape but instead Mccullough has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Jeromy Mccullough wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Mccullough moves into the clinch.
Mccullough tries to pull guard but Woodley holds him up against the cage and eventually Mccullough drops back down to his feet.

Mccullough is fighting off a takedown attempt but Woodley is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mccullough to the mat. Mccullough regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Woodley controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tyron Woodley was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Mccullough shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeromy Mccullough. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Woodley counters with a series of strikes. Mccullough will be more careful next time no doubt.

Woodley feints and as Mccullough raises his hands in defense, Woodley changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Woodley closes the distance and pushes Mccullough back into the cage.

Woodley is trying to trip Mccullough. He has hold of a leg but Mccullough is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Woodley persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Woodley is in close to Mccullough's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Mccullough is looking for a triangle but Woodley pushes his legs off easily.

Woodley makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Mccullough has momentary wrist control but Woodley slips an elbow through the middle.

Woodley wanted to stand there but Mccullough had control of the position.
Mccullough throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Woodley has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mccullough is proving hard to escape from.
Woodley throws a big elbow that misses.
Woodley looking to sit in guard and control but Mccullough gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Mccullough has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Woodley wants to get back to his feet but Mccullough passes into half guard.

Mccullough wants to stand up but Woodley manages to regain full guard.

Mccullough avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Woodley seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Woodley keeping moving, preventing Mccullough from controlling successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mccullough shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Woodley looks to score with a jab to the body but Mccullough is just out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyron Woodley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mccullough shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Woodley pinned against the cage. Woodley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Woodley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
