Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Haka Maka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominik Robillard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maka's entrance music is Island Music. A fine choice. Robillard has chosen Orelsan - Bada Bing as his entrance music. Dominik Robillard will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Haka Maka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominik Robillard! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maka throws a leg kick that misses. Robillard misses with a low kick. Maka shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Robillard as he avoids it easily. Maka looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Robillard chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Maka misses with a takedown attempt - Robillard sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Maka looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Haka Maka. That's going to take a lot out of him. Maka shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Maka with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Robillard is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maka is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Robillard is just riding it out for now. Maka eventually gives up the hold. Robillard tries to kick Maka off but Maka keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maka stalling. Ground and pound from Maka. Maka content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Maka is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Maka in particular looking to stall. Robillard felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Maka is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Maka is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Robillard is looking to get back to is feet but Maka passes into side control.
Robillard pushes Maka away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Maka gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Maka tries to move into full mount but can't pass Robillard's legs. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maka tries for a kimura but Robillard is defending well. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Robillard takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maka tries to score a power double leg takedown but Robillard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maka somewhat. Robillard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Maka pushes Robillard against the cage but Robillard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Maka moves in looking to clinch but Robillard pushes him off. Maka avoids the head kick by Robillard.

Robillard displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Maka. Maka looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Robillard is fending him off so far but Maka persists. Nope, Robillard circles away and we're back to standing. Maka fails with a takedown attempt. Robillard throws a sloppy head kick and Maka moves out of range easily. Robillard throws a head kick that misses. Robillard moves in looking to clinch but Maka pushes him off. Maka changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Robillard tries to avoid it but Maka manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Robillard to the ground. Robillard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maka slips a jab and a cross from Robillard.

Haka Maka is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Robillard tries to bum rush Maka with a series of wild strikes but Maka uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Robillard stuffs the takedown. Maka keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dominik Robillard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Robillard pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Maka gets the takedown into side control. Robillard is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Maka asserts his dominance and retains side control. Maka tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Robillard wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Maka is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Robillard has escaped the position, nice work there. Maka scoring with punches from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maka tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Maka has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maka thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Maka is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Robillard is not content to let Maka control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Haka Maka dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Robillard gets a clinch. Robillard prevents Maka from breaking the clinch. Robillard throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Robillard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Robillard throws a head kick that misses. Maka wants to clinch. Maka shoots in and bounces Robillard off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Maka wants to control from the top but Robillard keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robillard wants to stand up but Maka is controlling him. Maka slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Maka landing some decent shots from guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maka is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maka shoots in but no luck this time. Maka dives in and grabs Robillard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Robillard pushes down on Maka's head and hops out. Robillard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Robillard is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Maka goes for a double leg but Robillard avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Robillard continues to drive forward. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Maka tries to land knees in the clinch but Robillard avoids the damage to the body. Robillard breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maka has Robillard up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maka has Robillard pressed against the cage, preventing Robillard from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Dominik Robillard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Haka Maka is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Maka blocks an elbow strike.
And that's the end of the fight! Haka Maka showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Maka, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
