The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steele displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Silva throws out the jab. Steele shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steele gets slowly back to his feet. Steele fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Steele manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Steele fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away. Silva tries to clinch but Steele is having none of it. Steele misses with a jab, cross combination.
Steele really is a fat lump. Steele shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Steele. That's going to take a lot out of him. Steele tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes. Silva avoids the body shot from Steele.
Silva scores with a hook. Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Silva preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Steele is proving hard to escape from. Steele looking for a sweep. Not yet Steele, not yet. Steele is working hard here to advance position. Silva trying to control but Steele is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Steele tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Steele fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silva manages to avoid it. Silva misses the jab. Silva lands an overhand right. Silva looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Steele is looking to control Silva's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Steele avoid being mounted? Silva wants to stand but Steele has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Silva thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Steele's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele trying to control here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bob Steele wasn't doing enough on the ground. Steele uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silva. Steele moves out of range as Silva strikes. Silva misses with a hook. A left lands for Silva. Steele keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Silva looks winded! Silva leaves Steele with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Silva uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Steele has time to react.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. A head kick misses from Steele. A head kick misses from Steele. Steele shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steele gets slowly back to his feet. Steele fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Steele moves away from the strike by Silva. Nice takedown defense from Steele. No joy for Silva on that attempt. Silva darts in looking for a takedown but Steele gets double underhooks and turns Silva into the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Steele can't get the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Silva dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Steele slips under a jab from Silva. Silva misses with a straight left. Steele really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Silva jabs Steele to the body, keeping him at a distance. Steele tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Silva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Steele to the mat! Steele manages to get full guard. Silva postures up.
Steele keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully. Silva wants to stand but Steele has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Silva stopping the sweep attempt from Steele. Silva wants to stand and escape but instead Steele has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Silva is breathing heavily. Silva is working an open guard so Steele takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Silva shoots in and drives through. Steele sprawls well. Steele tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A swing and a miss from Silva. Steele shoots in but no luck this time. Steele moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off. Steele shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Steele. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva is looking to clinch. A big left from Silva misses. Steele looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Silva scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Silva sizes up Steele with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Silva misses with a straight right. Bob Steele is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Steele shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steele gets slowly back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva scores with a crisp jab that stopped Steele in his tracks. Silva jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Steele takes one to the chin there. Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steele's waist but Steele gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silva throws the left hand but Steele avoids the punch easily. Silva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Steele. Steele changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Steele manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Silva sizes up Steele with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Silva tries to clinch up but Steele circles away and keeps his distance. Silva misses with a hook. Steele shoots in but no luck this time. Silva might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva lands a lovely overhand right. Silva stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Silva misses with a hook. Steele ducked under it nicely. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Steele. Steele fails with a takedown attempt. Silva closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Steele's guard. Silva trying to stand up but can't free himself from Steele's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steele pulls Silva in close to his closed guard and prevents Silva from doing any damage or advancing position. Steele has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Silva has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steele is trying to pull guard but Silva has him pressed against the cage. Silva is trying to break free. Steele tries a knee to the head but Silva blocks it.
Silva has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Silva is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva can't break the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Steele pulls Silva into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Steele's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Silva slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Steele misses with a body kick. Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Steele pinned against the cage. Steele gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Steele slips a jab from Silva. Steele closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Silva being controlled against the cage. Silva is pressed up against the cage. Steele has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Silva down to the mat. Silva avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Steele on the wrong end of a nice jab. Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva tries to clinch up. Silva cracks Steele with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Steele manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Silva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Steele did well to prevent Silva getting side control. Steele holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Silva wants to stand up but Steele manages to regain full guard. Steele manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Silva is trying to stand but he's just given Steele his back. Silva holding both Steele 's hands and preventing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Even with his hooks in, Steele manages to miss with strikes from the back. Steele punches the canvas rather than the man. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Silva is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Steele tries to keep control of the position but Silva is staying busy. Silva is trying to stand back up. Steele has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Silva has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Silva is trying to get back to his feet but Steele has full control of the position and if anything, Silva has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele looking to break Silva's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Silva remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Steele will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Steele working for a choke but Silva is defending well. Silva trying to get back to his feet but Steele is in full control for now. Steele trying to control momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Steele struggling to land strikes to the head as Silva covers up. Will Steele go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Even with his hooks in, Steele manages to miss with strikes from the back. Silva manages to escape to his feet. Silva has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Donk. Silva catches Steele right on the button with a cross. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Steele fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away. Steele misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bob Steele. I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
