Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shelton Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shelton Joseph! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Power! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Power shoots for a double leg takedown but Joseph sprawls well. He's pushed Power's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Joseph will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Power wants to clinch and Joseph counters into the clinch. Nicely done. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Power dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Power misses with an elbow strike.
Power managing to block the knees to the body from Joseph.
Joseph wants to break free but Power has control.
Power stalling in the clinch but Joseph improves position. Power unloads a knee to the mid-section. Joseph lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Power breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Max Power seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Power moves in looking to clinch but Joseph pushes him off. Power shoots in but Joseph avoids the takedown attempt easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Power. Shelton Joseph has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Power.
That's one minute gone in the round. Power throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Joseph's waist but Joseph gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Power off to one side. Power misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Power tries to bum rush Joseph with a series of wild strikes but Joseph uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Power fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Power rushes Joseph and presses him up against the cage. Power keeps control of Joseph as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Joseph's face as he tries to break the clinch. Joseph has Power pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Joseph pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Power tumbling to the mat - Joseph dives into Power's guard. Joseph is working Power over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Joseph slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joseph controls the position. Joseph is looking to take a break and control but Power is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Joseph is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Power knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Joseph wants to stand but Power has his arm trapped. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Joseph trying to control the position but Power is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joseph lands a decent elbow from side control. Power tries to buck Joseph off but Joseph is having none of it. Power is still trying to improve position. Joseph decides to stand back up. Joseph throws a leg kick and Power counters with an outside leg kick.
Joseph shoots in for a takedown but Power shows good takedown defense. Power swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The fight stays on the outside here - Power looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Power throws a sloppy head kick and Joseph moves out of range easily. Power is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Joseph closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Joseph trying to control the position but Power is working away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Joseph tries to stand but Power is controlling his head. Joseph is working Power over with some ground and pound from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shelton Joseph dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Joseph really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Power is looking to advance position but Joseph won't allow it. Power is just content to waste time from the top position. Joseph takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joseph bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Power's guard. Joseph with a nice head shot there. Joseph slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Power pulls Joseph in close to prevent any damage. Joseph cracks Power with a solid left hand. Joseph not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joseph trying to control the position from guard on top but Power is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Joseph is stalling in the full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Joseph throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Sloppy strikes from Power. Those never looked like landing. Power takes the fight into the clinch. Joseph escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Joseph throws a push kick but Power slaps the foot to one side. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Power dodges the punch combination from Joseph.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Power is defended easily by Joseph. Power throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Power scores with a one two! Joseph had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Joseph fails with the takedown. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Power. Power is breathing heavily. Joseph tries to clinch there but Power circles away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Power. Joseph does a little dance to reset his feet. Joseph misses with a body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Joseph throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Joseph shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Power napping and manages to drive through into side control! Joseph in side control, just content to control the action for now. Joseph working the ground and pound. Shelton Joseph overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Joseph tries to stand but Power controls the position and pulls Joseph into his guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Power can't keep his opponent in guard - Joseph advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shelton Joseph dominated that second round. That's time! Joseph's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Power fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Joseph. Power tries to close the distance and clinch up but Joseph swats him away and circles back towards the center. Power rushes Joseph and presses him up against the cage. Joseph looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Joseph tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A shot in the inside from Power. Joseph prevents Power from breaking the clinch. Joseph holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Power lands a nice knee to the body. Joseph lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Power pressing his opponent against the cage. Power is trying to maintain a safe position but Joseph gets an underhook and turns Power into the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Joseph's face as he tries to break the clinch. Power landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. A frustrated look appears on Joseph's face as he tries to break the clinch. Power using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Joseph has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Power tries to sprawl out of it but Joseph keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Power manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Joseph avoids the head kick by Power.

Power shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Joseph as he jumps to the side. Power gets tackled into the cage by Joseph. Joseph maintains the clinch.

Power wants to sweep but no luck. Power controls Joseph momentarily but Joseph frees himself. Joseph pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Power is keeping the position for now. Joseph not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Power working a defensive guard but Joseph passes into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Power actively working from the bottom here. Joseph seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Joseph is trying to work for a kimura but Power is defending well.
Joseph works his way into side control. Max Power has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Shelton Joseph is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Power is letting Joseph control him for a moment.
