Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Monk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Fisher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Monk! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monk shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Monk showed some decent athleticism there. Monk should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Fisher is refusing to be controlled, as Monk sits in half guard. Monk prevents Fisher from improving his position. Fisher looking for submissions off his back. Fisher is looking to improve his position.
Fisher wants to get back to his feet. Monk scoring with strikes to the body and head. Fisher tries to get to full guard but Monk has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Fisher looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Monk! Fisher is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Monk can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Monk squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monk keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Fisher trying to control but he's not successful this time. Fisher is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Monk is surviving well by controlling Fisher's body position as best he can. Monk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fisher. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fisher is breathing heavily. Monk is working to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Monk is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Fisher landing strikes from the mount. Monk is looking to improve his position but Fisher isn't that keen on the idea. Fisher has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Monk's face.
Monk is working to get back to half guard.
Fisher is working for a guillotine from mount but Monk frees his head quite easily.
Fisher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Fisher prevents Monk from getting the reversal. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Fisher avoids the attempt from Monk to control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Monk can do anything to dispel that myth. Fisher is looking to stand but Fisher has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Fisher stands up from mount. Strange move. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Monk. Monk scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Fisher looking for submissions off his back. Monk is keen to just control but Fisher is a slippery customer. Fisher looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Monk is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Fisher is looking to improve his position.
Fisher tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Fisher is refusing to be controlled, as Monk sits in half guard. Monk looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fisher has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Monk. Oh but Fisher has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Monk goes limp - he's gone! Fisher jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
