Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Searlas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makahlen Gorbachoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Searlas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I'm Shipping up to Boston. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Searlas!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Makahlen Gorbachoff!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Searlas scores with a nice strike.
The fighters circling - Searlas throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Gorbachoff catches Searlas with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Searlas ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Searlas connects with a crisp jab.
Searlas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gorbachoff.
Gorbachoff connects with a single shot there.
Searlas throws a series of punches but Gorbachoff avoids them all with ease.

and Gorbachoff counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gorbachoff creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

We've been hearing reports that Searlas has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Searlas goes for a takedown attempt but Gorbachoff pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gorbachoff jabs Searlas right on the nose. Searlas blinks but takes it well.
Steve Searlas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Searlas scores with a shot to the body.
Searlas throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Gorbachoff decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Searlas's guard.
Searlas is pulling down on Gorbachoff's head. It's preventing any offense from Gorbachoff, at least for the moment.
Searlas wants to sweep but no luck.
Searlas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gorbachoff manages to get himself to full guard.

Searlas is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gorbachoff is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Searlas with a flurry of punches that miss.
Searlas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Steve Searlas just wasn't active enough.
Gorbachoff throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Searlas drops Gorbachoff with a left right combo! Searlas follows him down to the ground into side control.

It looks like Makahlen Gorbachoff has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Searlas in side control, throwing shots but Gorbachoff defends.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
What's Gorbachoff going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Gorbachoff is looking for a sweep.

Searlas controls the position.
Searlas is looking to take a break and control but Gorbachoff is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Searlas looks up at the clock and then as Gorbachoff takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Searlas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Searlas throwing strikes but Gorbachoff manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Gorbachoff looks to land a right hand but Searlas moved out of range.
Searlas misses with a wild body shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Searlas, as that shot connected.
Gorbachoff has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gorbachoff there as he acknowledges the shot.
Gorbachoff ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Searlas moves away.
A head kick from Gorbachoff lands but Searlas takes it in his stride.
Gorbachoff swings for the body but Searlas moves out of range.
Gorbachoff throws a head kick but Searlas moves out of range.
Gorbachoff throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Searlas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
BOOM! Searlas lands a beautiful left hook that drops Gorbachoff. Gorbachoff tries to recover but Searlas is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Gorbachoff lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Searlas!
