Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Augusto Pinochet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes to the cage accompanied by Magic In Me - B.O.B. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesse James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Augusto Pinochet!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pinochet swats him away and circles back towards the center.
James doesn't manage to clinch there - Pinochet circles away.
James fails with an attempt to clinch.

James gets caught flat footed, as Pinochet shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pinochet trying to control but James is working from the bottom.
James knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pinochet on the ground.
Pinochet looking to sit in guard and control but James gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Pinochet is controlling James's posture.
James trying to control but Pinochet is working from the bottom.
James wants to stand but Pinochet is controlling his posture from full guard.

James gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

James gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pinochet to score an easy takedown into full guard.

James is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pinochet wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.

James is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pinochet is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pinochet passes James's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
My spies in CW's Elite Kung-Fu Academy inform me that Pinochet has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Pinochet seems to be looking for submissions.

Pinochet is working for a submission of some sort.
James pushes Pinochet off looking to stand but Pinochet dives back in and keeps control.
Pinochet slows the pace down in half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
James is looking to escape.
James is not content to let Pinochet control the position.

Pinochet moves into full mount! James won't be happy about that!
Pinochet with shots to the head and body - James looks very uncomfortable down there.
Pinochet lands a big shot there that rocks James but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Pinochet goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now James is on top in guard.
Pinochet lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for James!
Pinochet tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
It looks like Pinochet might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

James is trying desperately to improve position.
Pinochet seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but James is holding on tight.
Pinochet wants to control the pace but James is squirming around nicely.
James is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pinochet controlling from mount.
Pinochet has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of James's face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Augusto Pinochet dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



James rushes Pinochet and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
James misses with an elbow over the top.
Pinochet goes for a takedown attempt but James pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
No luck for Pinochet with that takedown attempt.
Jesse James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

James moves into the clinch successfully.
James misses with some punches.
James throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Pinochet blocks it with crossed arms.
James throws an elbow that misses.
Pinochet blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
James misses with a punch on the inside.
James lands an elbow that stopped Pinochet in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Augusto Pinochet has been cut.
Pinochet goes for a takedown in the clinch but James prevents it.
Jesse James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Augusto Pinochet.
James scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Pinochet is working for takedown but James is calmly controlling the position for now.

James is pressed up against the cage. Pinochet has hold of a leg and is looking to drag James down to the mat. James avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


James tries to clinch there but Pinochet circles away.

Pinochet keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of James's head.
Pinochet is looking to pass into half guard but James pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now James is in guard.
Augusto Pinochet has got the better of the ground game so far.
Pinochet bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in James's guard.
James can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pinochet controls the pace.
Pinochet forces his way into half guard.
Pinochet lands with a punch from half guard.
James is refusing to be controlled, as Pinochet sits in half guard.
Pinochet stalling.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James wants to get back to his feet.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Augusto Pinochet wasn't active enough on the ground.
Pinochet shoots in looking for a takedown. James tries to sprawl out of it but Pinochet keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. James manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Some bone on bone action there as Pinochet checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

James rushes Pinochet and presses him up against the cage.
Pinochet tries to score a body lock takedown but James shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

James lands with a short head shot on the inside.
James is pushing Pinochet up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
James is pressed up against the cage. Pinochet has hold of a leg and is looking to drag James down to the mat. James avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

James doesn't manage to clinch there - Pinochet circles away.
Pinochet scores with a nice strike.
Pinochet sizes up James with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pinochet shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as James sprawls well. James wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pinochet gets slowly back to his feet.
Pinochet fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
James doesn't manage to clinch there - Pinochet circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
James moves to clinch but Pinochet breaks away
and Pinochet counters with a lovely shot to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
James tries to clinch up but Pinochet circles away and keeps his distance.
Pinochet tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but James defends well and Pinochet ends up having to push James into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
James swings wildly with an uppercut but Pinochet uses good head movement to avoid it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Augusto Pinochet comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Pinochet has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
