Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sterling Elliott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phillip Arroyo!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arroyo thows a body shot but no joy.
Arroyo fails to land the takedown.
Elliott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Elliott fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Elliott tries for a takedown but Arroyo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Arroyo clinches with his opponent.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Arroyo.
Arroyo prevents Elliott from breaking the clinch.

Arroyo pulls guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Elliott wants to pass the guard but Arroyo is keeping the position.

Arroyo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Elliott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Elliott is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Arroyo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sterling Elliott.

Elliott throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Arroyo's waist but Arroyo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Elliott off to one side.

Arroyo dives in for a single leg takedown but Elliott sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Elliott could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Elliott will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Arroyo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Elliott defends well and Arroyo ends up having to push Elliott into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Arroyo has his foot on Elliott's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Elliott works his way back into a safe position though.
Sterling Elliott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Arroyo wants to sweep but no luck.

Arroyo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Elliott wants to control from the top but Arroyo keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Elliott is really struggling to control Arroyo but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sterling Elliott wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Phillip Arroyo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Elliott throws a nice looking combination but Arroyo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

I would just about give that final round to Phillip Arroyo.
