Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Lobe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes to the cage accompanied by Trik Turner - Friends and Family. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lobe doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Alves makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Brian Lobe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lobe takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Brian Lobe has been cut.

Lobe gets a takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Lobe tries to pass the half guard into mount. Alves knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Alves tries to get to full guard but Lobe has control of the leg.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Freddy Alves just wasn't active enough.
Alves ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Lobe gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Alves counters with a nice uppercut.

Alves rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lobe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lobe shoots in for a takedown but Alves shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Freddy Alves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Lobe.
Lobe tries for a takedown but Alves sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Alves is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Alves moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Alves lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lobe!
Alves loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Lobe scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Alves land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Alves stands and salutes the crowd.
