Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rory Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Nielsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Nielsen acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nielsen misses with a takedown attempt
and Abbott counters with a left and a right that stings Nielsen.
Abbott misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nielsen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Abbott has a takedown stuffed.
Abbott throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Abbott is looking to score with low kicks.

Abbott shoots in and bounces Nielsen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abbott scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Abbott wants to stand but Nielsen has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Nielsen tries to roll over but Abbott keeps him under control.

Nielsen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Nielsen is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Abbott is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Nielsen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Nielsen has escaped and now he's on top!
Abbott has control of Nielsen's left arm, preventing Nielsen from doing any damage.

Abbott wants to sweep here but Nielsen controlling him for the moment.
Abbott seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Abbott doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Abbott isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Nielsen stacks Abbott on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Nielsen!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Abbott is not content to let Nielsen control the position.

Abbott gets tackled into the cage by Nielsen. Nielsen maintains the clinch.
Come on Abbott - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Abbott is trying to drag Nielsen to the mat but Nielsen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Nielsen tries to pull guard but Abbott won't allow it.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Abbott takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Abbott has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nielsen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Nielsen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Nielsen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Abbott is defending well.
Rory Abbott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Nielsen.

Nielsen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Abbott tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Nielsen just stands there and leans against the cage.

Abbott shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Abbott was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Nielsen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Nielsen is trying to work for a sweep but Abbott has mounted him!

Nielsen tries to reverse the position but Abbott maintains control.
Nielsen tries to lock up and control but Abbott gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Nielsen tries to control the position but Abbott now has his back.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Abbott is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Abbott looking to break Nielsen's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Nielsen remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Abbott will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
