Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Molina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Tiberun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stephen Molina!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jonathan Tiberun!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Molina shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tiberun sprawls well. Tiberun wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Molina gets slowly back to his feet.
Molina tries to clinch
and Tiberun counters with a good low kick that Molina was not able to check.
Tiberun circles away from the clinch attempt.
Molina tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tiberun paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Molina shoots in for a takedown but Tiberun shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Molina shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Molina wants to pass the guard but Tiberun is defending well.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Molina in particular looking to stall.

Tiberun has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Molina can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tiberun tries to roll over but Molina keeps him under control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Tiberun thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Stephen Molina will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The fight stays on the outside here - Molina looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Tiberun throws a leg kick but Molina sees it coming and moves out of range.
Tiberun throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Molina throws a hook to the side of Tiberun's head but Tiberun sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nice sprawl there from Tiberun as Molina shoots in.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Molina fails with the takedown
and Tiberun counters with an outside leg kick.

Tiberun manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Molina on his heels. He'll look to pass Molina's guard now, I'm sure.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tiberun accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tiberun passes Molina's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Tiberun lands strikes from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tiberun lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Molina is trying to control but can't.

Tiberun is looking for a kimura but Molina is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tiberun to get the leverage.
Molina is staying active underneath Tiberun, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ground and pound from Tiberun.

Tiberun is nestled in close to Molina, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tiberun lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Tiberun looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Molina with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Tiberun is working for a kimura but Molina is defending it quite comfortably.
Molina gets full guard.

Tiberun postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Molina is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tiberun, into his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Molina throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tiberun works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonathan Tiberun showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Molina gets control of Tiberun's arms and successfully pulls guard. Molina will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Tiberun throws an elbow that misses. Molina uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tiberun's guard. Nice move by Molina!

Molina throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Tiberun has gone for a leg lock! Molina slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tiberun's guard.
Molina is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Tiberun has his foot on Molina's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Molina works his way back into a safe position though.

Molina slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Stephen Molina.
Tiberun fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Molina is out of range.
Molina closes the distance and clinches up with Tiberun, looking for a takedown. Molina pushes Tiberun against the cage but Tiberun circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stephen Molina. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

and Tiberun counters by moving into the clinch.
Molina tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tiberun just stands there and leans against the cage.
Molina jumps guard but Tiberun stands there with Molina around his waist. Molina gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Stephen Molina.
I think Molina has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
