Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Swanson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jermaine Michaels! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Michaels scores with a head kick.
It looks like Joe Swanson has been cut. Swanson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Michaels.

Michaels fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Swanson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Michaels closes the distance but Swanson moves to the side and Swanson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Michaels is looking to stand up but Swanson isn't so interested in that idea. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Swanson takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Michaels landing knees to the body.
Swanson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Michaels has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Swanson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Michaels defending against the ground and pound. Michaels throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Michaels tries a head kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Swanson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Michaels is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Swanson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
