The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGarrity slaps away a takedown attempt from Hrolf , before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kearney McGarrity seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGarrity throws the kick towards the body but Hrolf avoids it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! McGarrity's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Hrolf lunges at McGarrity with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by McGarrity's hand.

McGarrity shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hrolf 's guard.
McGarrity cracks Hrolf with a solid left hand.
McGarrity sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hrolf 's guard.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting McGarrity here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Hrolf wants to improve his position but McGarrity is controlling well.
Hrolf is pressing down on McGarrity's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
