Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Glen Starner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sick Puppy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glen Starner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sick Puppy! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Starner looks to land a right hand but Puppy moved out of range. Starner closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Starner lands the left hand. A punch combination from Puppy misses. Puppy misses the shot to the body. Starner keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Puppy. Starner gets a double leg takedown into Puppy's guard. Puppy is trying to control the position but Starner postures up. Puppy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Starner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Puppy preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Starner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Puppy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Starner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Puppy is keeping the position for now. Puppy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Puppy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Starner stops Puppy from getting back to his feet.
Starner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Puppy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Starner throwing shots but Puppy is blocking nicely. Puppy looking for submissions off his back. Puppy tries to kick Starner off but Starner keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Starner drops an elbow to the side of Puppy's head. Puppy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Starner. Puppy has hold of Starner's hands but Starner slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Starner tries to pass to full mount but Puppy defends it. Puppy is trying to stand.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Puppy is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. This has been an exciting period of action! Starner is looking to take a break and control but Puppy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Puppy wants to improve his position but Starner is controlling well.

Starner is pressing down on Puppy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Puppy is holding on for now. Puppy is trying to stand up here but Starner is controlling him well. Starner frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Puppy bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Puppy is looking to work some ground and pound but Starner has wrist control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Starner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Puppy defends well. Puppy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Puppy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Starner works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Starner looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Puppy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Starner looking to hit a scissor sweep but Puppy is one step ahead there. Starner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Puppy defends it easily. Puppy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Puppy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Starner keeps working. Puppy landing a few strikes. Puppy lands a few punches from side control. Puppy scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Starner to see if he's OK. Puppy landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Puppy in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Starner takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Starner is rocked! Starner is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Oh Starner is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Starner is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Puppy off and has taken his back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Sick Puppy will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Starner throws a leg kick that misses. Starner seems to have got his legs back now. Puppy feints and then cracks Starner's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Starner down. Starner leaves Puppy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Starner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Puppy moves away. Puppy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Starner is fending him off so far but Puppy persists. Nope, Starner circles away and we're back to standing. Puppy scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Puppy scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Puppy misses with an uppercut. Starner saw that one coming. Puppy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Starner circles away quickly and effectively. Puppy throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Puppy jabbing away but nothing is landing. Starner stuffs the takedown. Glen Starner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sick Puppy. Starner tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Puppy defends well and Starner ends up having to push Puppy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Puppy misses with a punch on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Puppy drops down looking for an ankle pick but Starner pulls his leg out and moves away.

Starner throws a body punch but Puppy moves out of range. Puppy loads up on a big right hand but Starner slips the punch. Starner bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Puppy fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Puppy thumps Starner with a low kick. Starner takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Starner throws a hook to the side of Puppy's head but Puppy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Starner feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Puppys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Puppy misses with a body shot.
Starner scores with the left hand. Puppy knows he should have avoided that one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Puppy throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Puppy throws a head kick that misses so Starner counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Puppy is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Starner trying to control but Puppy is working from the bottom. Starner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Puppy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Starner drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Starner jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Puppy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Starner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Starner working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Puppy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Puppy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That was a close second round but I would say that Glen Starner will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Starner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Starner circles away from the clinch attempt and Starner counters with a shoot takedown. Puppy fights it but they end up in guard. Starner lands a couple of decent looking shots. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Starner drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Starner jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Puppy kicks Starner off and gets to his feet. Starner takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Starner slips under a jab. Starner moves out of range as Puppy throws a body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Starner shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Starner scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Puppy can't do much from the bottom here. Starner connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Puppy some visible discomfort.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Puppy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Starner's guard. Puppy scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Puppy looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Sick Puppy. Well Puppy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
