Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dylan Baker! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baker ducks under a wild hook from Diaz. No joy there for Diaz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Diaz really is a fat lump. Baker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Diaz sprawls well. Diaz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Baker gets slowly back to his feet. Diaz clinches up with Baker and pushes him back against the cage. Diaz leaning his opponent against the cage. Diaz lands an elbow inside.
It looks like Dylan Baker has been cut. Diaz lands a left hand that snaps the head of Baker backwards. Diaz pressing his opponent against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Diaz for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Joey Diaz. Diaz clinches up against the cage. Diaz lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Diaz will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Baker up against the cage. Baker is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Diaz pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Diaz lands a hook that snaps the head of Baker backwards. Diaz lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Baker has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Diaz after a bit of a struggle. Joey Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Diaz leaves Baker with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Baker steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Diaz. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Joey Diaz. Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Baker circles away quickly and effectively.

Diaz thuds his right hand into Baker's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Baker drops his hands momentarily and Diaz takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Diaz lands a glancing blow to the side of Baker's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Nice sprawl there from Diaz as Baker shoots in. Baker defending well as Diaz loads up on a big left hand. Baker uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Diaz. Baker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Diaz misses the jab. Diaz moves into the clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Diaz. Diaz makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baker wants the takedown. Diaz is fighting it off but Baker persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Diaz's guard against the cage. Baker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Baker drops back looking for a leg! Diaz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Diaz manages to kick Baker off! Baker jumps back into Diaz's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. That's two minutes gone in the round. Baker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Baker stands and throws Diaz's legs to the side, diving into side control. Diaz wants to get back to his feet but Baker drags him back down. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Baker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz tries to escape but Baker is in control. Baker is trying to get an arm triangle but Diaz is defending well. Baker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Baker looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Diaz, who protects the arm well. Diaz wants to get back to his feet but Baker drags him back down. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Baker is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Diaz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Baker is trying to get an arm triangle but Diaz is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diaz moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Baker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diaz's waist but Diaz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Baker off to one side. Diaz throws out a loose jab but Baker uses good head movement to avoid it. Baker walks into a straight right hand from Diaz. Diaz moves in looking to clinch but Baker pushes him off. Baker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Diaz throws out the jab. Baker fails with the takedown. Baker tries to keep at a distance but Diaz has taken the fight into the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Diaz fails to land. Baker is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Joey Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Baker is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Diaz pulls him back up using the underhooks. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Diaz takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Diaz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Baker defending well as Diaz loads up on a big left hand. Baker shoots in for a takedown but Diaz shows good takedown defense. Dylan Baker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Diaz closes the distance and clinches. Baker letting Diaz take a breather here. Baker avoids a wild elbow strike from Diaz. Diaz's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Diaz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Baker can do to turn this around? Diaz breaks from the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Diaz circles away. Diaz scores with a jab. Baker acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Diaz is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. This has been an exciting period of action! Baker gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Diaz misses with a straight left. Dylan Baker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Baker moves away from the strike by Diaz. Baker looks for a takedown but Diaz sprawls well. A cross from Diaz lands. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Baker with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Diaz to score with a decent uppercut. Diaz scores with a three punch combo!
And that's the end of the fight! Joey Diaz showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Diaz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
