Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiji Numa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to ''Big Poppa'' by The Notorious B.I.G.. The crowd seem to be enjoying Numa's choice of entrance music: Ladies and Gentlemen. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
29 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Trevor Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keiji Numa! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Numa feints and then cracks Smith's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smith down. Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Numa paws at him with a jab and circles away. Smith throws a good cross that connects.
Numa avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smith lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Numa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Smith's guard. Numa stands and throws Smith's legs to the side, diving into side control. Smith is trying to improve his position. Numa tries for a kimura but Smith is defending well. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Numa content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Numa trying to control the position but Smith is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Numa tries to stand but Smith is controlling his head. Smith is trying to improve his position. Smith regains half guard. Smith is refusing to be controlled, as Numa sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Numa trying to mount his opponent but Smith defends it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith wants to improve his position but Numa is controlling well.
Smith is working hard here to advance position. Smith is trying to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Numa is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Smith is trying to get back to full guard. Numa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Numa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Smith wants to get back to his feet. Smith has his hands clasped together around Numa's back. He's all about the action. Numa works his way into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Numa is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Smith looks calm but he's in trouble here. Numa gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Smith is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Numa lets go of the hold and Smith can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Keiji Numa! Keiji Numa decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. The defeated Trevor Smith had this to say: 'im sorry fans, i was not focused enough, didnt followed the gameplan as i should. but i guarantee i will learn from this loss and comeback better.'.
