Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Jos Ricci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murray comes to the cage accompanied by KO muzik. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Lee Murray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Jos Ricci!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murray stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Murray wants it to stay on the feet.
Carlos Jos Ricci seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Murray. Those never looked like landing.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Murray works the jab nicely.


It looks like Carlos Jos Ricci has been cut.
Jos Ricci uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Murray.
Jos Ricci looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Murray is fending him off so far but Jos Ricci persists. Nope, Murray circles away and we're back to standing.

Jos Ricci changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Murray looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Murray is looking for a sweep.
Murray is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at [CBK] Training Center that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jos Ricci lands a nice short elbow.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jos Ricci working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Murray actively working from the bottom here.
Jos Ricci looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Murray with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jos Ricci is just content to waste time from the top position. Murray takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Murray has momentary wrist control but Jos Ricci slips an elbow through the middle.

Murray had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jos Ricci defends it easily.
Jos Ricci is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.


Murray is rocked!
Murray is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Murray manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jos Ricci manages to get himself to full guard.

Murray has control of an arm but Jos Ricci manages to advance to Murray's back!
You can see the frustration on Murray's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Murray manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jos Ricci's guard. Nice work there by Murray.

Jos Ricci looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Murray wants to control from the top but Jos Ricci keeps moving.

Murray throws a big right hand that misses.
Jos Ricci keeping moving, preventing Murray from controlling successfully.
Jos Ricci looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Murray is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Lee Murray just wasn't active enough.
Jos Ricci closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Murray uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Murray scores with a jab.
Horrible takedown by Jos Ricci or perhaps it was just good defense by Murray which made him look bad.
Lee Murray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Jos Ricci.
Murray thows a body shot but no joy.
Jos Ricci fails with the takedown
and Murray counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jos Ricci.
Jos Ricci looks for a takedown but Murray sprawls well.

Jos Ricci has his takedown stuffed
and Murray cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jos Ricci shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Murray as he jumps to the side.
Jos Ricci looks winded!
Jos Ricci shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Murray drops Jos Ricci with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Jos Ricci looks back up at him and smiles so Murray waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Jos Ricci is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Murray lands an uppercut, right on the button! Jos Ricci tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lee Murray!
In his post fight interview, Lee Murray gave a big smile as he said 'I'm going back to my roots and trying to knock everyone out. I've only lost by KO so its going to be me or you. I'm 30 and I still got about 10 fights in me and I plan on going hard. Kill or be killed from now on.'.
