PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jaime Sonny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tigre Singh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Singh's choice of entrance music: Enya-Sail Away. Tigre Singh told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonny misses with a takedown attempt

so Singh counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Singh looking to pass the guard.
Singh throwing strikes but missing.
Singh keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sonny's head.
Singh trying to control the position from guard on top but Sonny is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sonny looking for a guillotine here but Singh defends easily.
Singh wants to pass the guard but Sonny is keeping the position.

Singh thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Singh in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Singh throws an elbow that misses. Sonny uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Singh's guard. Nice move by Sonny!
Singh looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Singh has his foot on Sonny's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sonny works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sonny drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Singh manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sonny has Singh in his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Singh drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Singh seems to have locked his on tight now - Sonny screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Singh, as he picks up the win!
