The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Asanov darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jones avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jones should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Asanov lands a body shot.
Asanov closes the distance and clinches.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Asanov.

Asanov bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jones's head backwards.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Asanov drops Jones onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Jones is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Jones is rocked!

Asanov unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Jones! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Asanov is unloading with more strikes now! Jones drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Guljigit Asanov!
After the fight, Guljigit Asanov was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
