Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerry Chandler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Jonathon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chandler comes to the cage accompanied by Silverchair - Tomorrow. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gerry Chandler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Jonathon!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonathon on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Chandler throws a head kick that misses.
Chandler lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Chandler fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jonathon has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Jonathon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chandler is fending him off so far but Jonathon persists. Nope, Chandler circles away and we're back to standing.
Chandler looks to score with a jab to the body but Jonathon is just out of range.
Jonathon darts in looking for a takedown but Chandler gets double underhooks and turns Jonathon into the cage.

Gerry Chandler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Jonathon.

Jonathon has Chandler pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jonathon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Chandler tumbling to the mat - Jonathon dives into Chandler's guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Chandler's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Chandler.

Jonathon misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jonathon working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Jonathon goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Chandler has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jonathon but great work by Chandler.
