Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kobe Romeo Paris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Capt Letseng Atay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kobe Romeo Paris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Capt Letseng Atay! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paris wants to clinch. Atay has his takedown stuffed and Paris holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Atay breaks from the clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Paris has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Atay doesn't succeed with the takedown and Paris counters with a left to the body. Atay decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Paris looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Paris tries to kick Atay off but Atay keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Paris is looking to improve his position.
Paris is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Atay pulls his head out easily. Paris looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Paris trying to hold on to Atay's head to control him but Atay postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Atay seems to be looking for submissions.
Paris looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Atay not landing any meaningful shots this time. Atay is stalling here. Paris is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Atay seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Paris has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Paris tries to move into full mount but can't pass Atay's legs. Paris working the head with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paris takes a little break here. Atay wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Atay taking a bit of punishment here - Paris scoring with strikes. Atay really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Paris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Atay keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Atay tries to bench press Paris off him but Paris keeps the position. Paris wants to control but Atay is keeping him busy. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Atay is trying to get back to his feet. Paris lands some shots froms side control. Paris advances nicely into full mount. Paris jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Atay manages to avoid the submission attempt. Paris scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Atay to see if he's OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paris tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Paris has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Paris is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Atay looks calm but he's in trouble here. Paris gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Atay is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Paris lets go of the hold and Atay can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kobe Romeo Paris! In his post fight interview, Kobe Romeo Paris started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
