Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Stien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua has chosen Roy Jones - Can't be touched as his entrance music. Ben Stien has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Stien! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mauricio Rua! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stien scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Rua is pressing down on Stien's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Rua is trying to control the position but Stien postures up. Rua had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stien defends it easily. Stien throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rua working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Stien has passed into half guard!
Stien prevents Rua from improving his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stien is looking to take a break and control but Rua is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rua is trying to get back to full guard. Stien takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Stien wants to control but Rua is keeping him busy. Stien stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rua pushes Stien off looking to stand but Stien dives back in and keeps control.
We've been hearing that Stien has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Rua looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Stien wants to take a breather but Rua is having none of it. Stien is just content to waste time from the top position. Rua takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Stien wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving. Rua working for a triangle but Stien defends it easily.

Rua working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stien doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stien manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Stien has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Stien content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Rua throws his legs up looking for a submission but Stien uses it to pass to side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rua trying to remain calm as Stien controls from the top position. Rua is trying to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stien misses with a wild body shot. Stien fails in his attempt to clinch. Stien tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rua manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Rua shoots in looking for a takedown. Stien tries to sprawl out of it but Rua keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stien manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Rua with a lazy takedown attempt and Stien counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Rua darts in looking for a takedown but Stien gets double underhooks and turns Rua into the cage. Ben Stien has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauricio Rua. Rua with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Stien scores with a nice hook to the head. Stien lands a left hand.
Rua has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Stien after a bit of a struggle. Stien lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Rua wants a takedown but no success here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stien working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Stien can't find room to land a body shot as Rua controls the action.
Stien works on Rua's body with a couple of short punches. Rua is breathing heavily. Stien lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Rua is rocked! Stien lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Rua is still on wobbly legs! Can Stien finish him? Stien lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. A right hand to the body from Stien.

Mauricio Rua is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stien closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Rua seems to have recovered his senses. Still in the clinch, Stien scores with a nice short uppercut. Stien breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua stays in close to Stien's body and controls the position. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Stien holds on and takes a little breather. Stien keeping moving, preventing Rua from controlling successfully.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mauricio Rua wasn't active enough on the ground. Rua steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stien. Stien with a body punch. A glancing blow. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stien leaves Rua with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! No luck for Rua with that takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

They are putting on a show! Rua looking for a sweep. Not yet Rua, not yet. Rua is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stien is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Stien is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Stien keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rua's head. Rua looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rua escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stien gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Stien trying to control but Rua is working from the bottom. Stien controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Rua controls Stien momentarily but Stien frees himself. Stien working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Rua isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Stien stacks Rua on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Stien!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua tries to bench press Stien off him but Stien keeps the position. Stien looks up at the clock and then as Rua takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Stien smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Stien scores with punches from side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stien creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Stien working away. Rua tries to improve position but can't. Stien scoring with punches from side control. Stien is working Rua over with some ground and pound from side control. Stien cracks Rua with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Stien immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Rua is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Stien!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ben Stien! After winning the bout, Ben Stien thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
