Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John MacMillen!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacMillen lands a right hook to the body.
Young is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
MacMillen lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Young takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
MacMillen buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Young forces MacMillen back against the ropes and clinches.
MacMillen misses with a shot to the kidneys.
MacMillen has a couple of punches blocked by Young.

I was talking to Young's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
MacMillen blocks an elbow strike.
Young tries a body shot but MacMillen blocks it.
A head punch on the inside from MacMillen fails to land.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Young just misses with a elbow thrown towards MacMillen's brow.

MacMillen blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Young looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Young pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.

Dan Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
MacMillen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Young uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by MacMillen.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Dan Young has been cut.
Young has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from MacMillen finds it's way round the side to connect with Young's head.
MacMillen looks to score with a jab to the body but Young is just out of range.
MacMillen clobbers Young with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
MacMillen connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
MacMillen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Young.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Young lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Young tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but MacMillen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

MacMillen smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
MacMillen has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
MacMillen blocks a head kick by Young.

This has been an exciting period of action!

MacMillen throws a jab when Young was well out of range.
MacMillen throws an overhand right that lands on Young's shoulder, as Young tries to avoid the shot.
Young jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Young lands with a hook. MacMillen tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Young throws a head kick but MacMillen moves out of range.
MacMillen circles away from the clinch attempt.
MacMillen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

John MacMillen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Young gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
MacMillen thuds his right hand into Young's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

John MacMillen seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. MacMillen moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Young! MacMillen continues to tee off on Young, landing with a left and a right! MacMillen connects with a right hand that leaves Young sleeping against the ropes! What a finish by MacMillen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). John MacMillen!
John MacMillen tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
