Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Davis Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Petrovick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Simon Petrovick! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Petrovick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Black paws at him with a jab and circles away. Petrovick gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Petrovick being controlled here, momentarily. Black advances to half guard. Petrovick wants to improve his position but Black is controlling well.
Black works his way into full mount! Black landing strikes from the mount and Petrovick is in trouble!
That's one minute gone in the round. Black moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Petrovick has worked his arm free - good work by Petrovick!
Black moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Black has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Black is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Petrovick knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. You can see the frustration on Petrovick's face as Black controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petrovick is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Petrovick tries to bench press Black off him but Black keeps the position. Black moves into full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Petrovick can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Black tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Black is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Black working for a submission but Petrovick is keeping him at bay. Black manages to capitalize on a mistake by Petrovick to take his back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Black is trying to stick to Petrovick's back but Petrovick is turning into Black. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Black's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Petrovick. Petrovick loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Petrovick postures up in Black's guard and throws a big left but Black blocks it. Black working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Petrovick. Petrovick throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Black works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Petrovick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Black wants to sweep here but Petrovick controlling him for the moment. Black avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Petrovick shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Black decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Petrovick's guard. Black is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Davis Black dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Black takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Petrovick tries to clinch up and Black counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Black. Black content to stall in guard here. Petrovick looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petrovick is looking to stand up but Black isn't so interested in that idea. Davis Black overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Black is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Black advances to half guard. Petrovick is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Black takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Black uses his free foot to push down on Petrovick's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Petrovick. Black controlling his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petrovick tries to reverse the position but Black maintains control. Petrovick is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Petrovick throwing hammer fists to the chest of Black. What's that going to do exactly? Black sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Black fails to advance to Petrovick's back. Black controlling from the full mount. Black trying to control but he's not successful this time. Petrovick can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Black looking to control but Petrovick is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Davis Black just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. The fight moves into the clinch position. Black tries for a takedown. No joy.
Petrovick is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Black is keeping busy. Petrovick misses with a knee strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Davis Black dominated that second round. That's time! Black's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Black shoots in for a double leg but Petrovick sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Petrovick tries to clinch but fails miserably and Black counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Petrovick tries to roll over but Black keeps him under control. Black controlling the action here. Petrovick punching from the bottom.
Black passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Black controlling the pace for now. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Petrovick can't escape the position.
Black is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Petrovick is surviving well by controlling Black's body position as best he can. Petrovick is working to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Black wants to control the pace but Petrovick is squirming around nicely. Petrovick can't escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Black connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Black fails to move to back control. Black misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Black controlling from the full mount. Petrovick is desperately trying to improve his position but Black has a good base and remains in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Black trying to control but he's not successful this time. Petrovick manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Petrovick, under a barage of strikes from Black.
Petrovick is trying to get back to full guard. Black wants to pass to mount but Petrovick is defending the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Petrovick lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
And that's the end of the fight! Davis Black showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Black, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
