Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anthony Hermanos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chad Wexler! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wexler closes the distance and pushes Hermanos back into the cage. Wexler keeps control of Hermanos as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Wexler softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Stalling in the clinch from Wexler.
Wexler lands an elbow inside that Hermanos shrugs off. Wexler lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hermanos is trying to stand up here but Wexler is controlling him well. Wexler works his way into side control. Wexler working the head and body with strikes. Wexler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sloppy strikes there by Wexler. Wexler lands a couple of good shots and Hermanos has given up his back, trying to escape the position! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wexler is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Wexler is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hermanos has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Wexler connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Hermanos to escape the position.

Hermanos feints a jab promting Wexler to slip. Hermanos then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Wexler slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wexler closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wexler misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Wexler is staying tight to Hermanos's torso, preventing him from escaping. Wexler working the head and body with strikes.

Wexler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wexler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Wexler in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Chad Wexler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Hermanos throws a right and a left that Wexler avoids nicely. Wexler misses with a hook. Hermanos ducked under it nicely. Hermanos slips a straight right by Wexler. Wexler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hermanos moves away. Hermanos keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wexler. Hermanos fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wexler manages to avoid it. Wexler displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hermanos throws out the jab. Wexler staying out of range there. Wexler throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hermanos sees it coming and avoids it easily. Hermanos looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hermanos throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wexler on the side of the head. Hermanos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
