Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and el Capitan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Calvin Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, el Capitan! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charles tries for a takedown but Capitan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Charles really is a fat lump. Charles tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Capitan swivels and escapes. Capitan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Capitan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Charles manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Capitan content to stall in guard here. Charles is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Capitan is controlling him. Capitan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Capitan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Capitan trying to control the position from guard on top but Charles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
el Capitan has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Capitan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Capitan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Capitan wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Calvin Charles. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck with that takedown attempt from Charles. Capitan moves into the clinch. Capitan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Capitan throws a head kick that Charles semi-blocks.
It looks like Calvin Charles has been cut. Capitan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Charles defends well and Capitan ends up having to push Charles into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Charles is working for takedown but Capitan is calmly controlling the position for now. Capitan gets control of Charles's arms and successfully pulls guard. Capitan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Capitan controls Charles momentarily but Charles frees himself. Capitan is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Charles has his hands clasped together but Capitan extends and breaks Charles's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Capitan.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). el Capitan!
