The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zangief chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lee can pounce on him.
Lee is looking to score with low kicks.
A punch lands to the side of Zangief 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Lee misses with a looping left.
Lee scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Lee lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A jab lands there for Lee.
Lee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Zangief on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Lee thuds his right hand into Zangief's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Zangief takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Lee buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Lee is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Zangief had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Lee lands a leg kick that knocks Zangief off balance momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lee dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Zangief. That did some damage!

Andi Lee dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Zangief darts in looking for a takedown but Lee gets double underhooks and turns Zangief into the cage.
Zangief has Lee pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lee manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Lee has had enough of the clinch but Zangief keeps him there for the moment.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Andi Lee wasn't active enough on the ground.
