Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hoyt Trujillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Griffin Dewitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin Dewitt will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dewitt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Trujillo as he jumps to the side.
Dewitt throws a head kick that Trujillo semi-blocks.

It looks like Hoyt Trujillo has been cut.
Dewitt throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Trujillo.
Good leg kick by Dewitt there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Trujillo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dewitt on his heels. He'll look to pass Dewitt's guard now, I'm sure.

Trujillo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dewitt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trujillo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dewitt can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Trujillo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dewitt is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dewitt and Trujillo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Dewitt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Trujillo avoids it really well and circles away.

Trujillo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hoyt Trujillo.

Trujillo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dewitt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Dewitt is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Trujillo asserts his dominance and retains side control.
