Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Tabanas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Ricken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joshua Tabanas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Ricken! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ricken. Tabanas shoots in for a takedown but Ricken shows good takedown defense. Tabanas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ricken pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ricken is looking to clinch. Tabanas has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Ricken. Tabanas doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. No luck with that takedown attempt from Tabanas. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joshua Tabanas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tabanas attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Ricken throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tabanas was covering up waiting for the punch and Ricken finishes the takedown easily into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ricken pushing down on Tabanas's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tabanas is trying to get back to full guard. Tabanas is looking to get back to full guard here but Ricken has managed to pass to side control instead. Ricken controlling from side mount. Ricken lands a nice forearm strike. Ricken advances to full mount. Tabanas tries to lock up and control but Ricken gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ricken sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Ricken landing punches. Ricken has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Tabanas is forced to tap!
