Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lamont Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Musaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenji Musaki is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lamont Powell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Musaki! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Musaki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Powell swats him away and circles back towards the center. Musaki shoots and misses and Powell counters by clinching up. Powell gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Musaki.
Powell lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Powell has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Musaki is trying to keep an underhook but Powell manages to get the takedown into half guard. Powell with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Musaki should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Lamont Powell has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Musaki looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Musaki looks winded! Musaki is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Powell has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powell tries to kick Musaki off but Musaki keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Musaki wants to work for an arm triangle but Powell is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Powell wants to improve his position but Musaki is controlling well.
Powell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Musaki is working away from the top position though. Powell is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Powell makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Powell. Powell wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powell has control of Musaki's left arm, preventing Musaki from doing any damage. Musaki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Powell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Musaki drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Powell dives on top into guard. Powell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Musaki is proving hard to escape from. Powell wants to stand and escape but instead Musaki has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powell wants to sweep here but Musaki controlling him for the moment. Musaki tries to free his leg and advance position but Powell is retaining full guard. Powell has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Powell throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy. Musaki postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Powell is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Musaki, into his guard. Powell won't allow Musaki to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Powell controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Lamont Powell wasn't doing enough on the ground. Musaki tries for a takedown but Powell circles away easily and Powell counters with a takedown into side control. Lamont Powell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenji Musaki. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Powell scoring with punches and elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lamont Powell dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Powell closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Musaki quickly recovers to half guard. Powell wants to pass to mount but Musaki is defending the position. Powell trying to control the pace. Powell wants to free his trapped foot but Musaki is holding on for dear life with his legs. Musaki is breathing heavily.
We're going to have a standup here because Lamont Powell wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Powell looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powell thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Powell landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Powell trying to pass the guard but Musaki defending well. Powell in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Musaki tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Powell!
