Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Bartek Pietrzak! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyrone Wallace! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pietrzak sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wallace somewhat. Wallace takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
A slow jab from Pietrzak misses its intended target. Wallace looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Pietrzak tried to score with a low kick but Wallace checks it. Pietrzak throws a jab when Wallace was well out of range. Pietrzak listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
It looks like Tyrone Wallace has been cut. Nice sprawl there from Pietrzak as Wallace shoots in. Wallace closes the distance looking to clinch and Pietrzak cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. We've been told by Pietrzak's head coaches at Commonwealth that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pietrzak closes the distance and clinches up with Wallace, looking for a takedown. Pietrzak pushes Wallace against the ropes but Wallace circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Wallace closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pietrzak quickly recovers to half guard. Pietrzak trying to hold on to Wallace's head to control him but Wallace postures up.
Wallace missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Wallace not landing any meaningful shots this time. Wallace seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Wallace is nestled in close to Pietrzak, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Pietrzak is looking to control Wallace's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pietrzak avoid being mounted? Pietrzak tries to get to full guard but Wallace has control of the leg. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Pietrzak wants to control but Wallace is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace wants to get back to his feet.
Wallace is just content to waste time from the top position. Pietrzak takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Wallace wants to stand and escape but instead Pietrzak has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wallace looking for a sweep. Not yet Wallace, not yet. Pietrzak in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Pietrzak trying to control the position from guard on top but Wallace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wallace is trying to hold Pietrzak in close to prevent damage but Pietrzak has managed to pass into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace is staying active underneath Pietrzak, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Pietrzak slips a nice elbow through Wallace's hands, connecting with Wallace's forehead. Wallace is trying to stand up here but Pietrzak is controlling him well. Wallace trying to hold on to Pietrzak's head to control him but Pietrzak postures up.

Wallace tries to get to full guard but Pietrzak has control of the leg. Pietrzak throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wallace wants to improve his position but Pietrzak is controlling well.

Wallace has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pietrzak is working away from the top position though. Wallace wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Pietrzak seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wallace does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wallace drops his hands momentarily and Pietrzak takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Pietrzak pivots, looking for a leg kick but Wallace is out of range and Pietrzak settles back down. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pietrzak swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Wallace. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wallace throws a series of punches but Pietrzak moves out of range. Wallace lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pietrzak circles away quickly and effectively. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bartek Pietrzak dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tyrone Wallace's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Pietrzak throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wallace tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pietrzak is in Wallace's guard. Pietrzak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wallace is keeping the position for now. Wallace looking to control.
Pietrzak slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Wallace avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Wallace is wriggling around but Pietrzak manages to pass to half guard.
Wallace is trying to get back to full guard. Wallace moves into full guard.
Pietrzak throws a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace wants to sweep here but Pietrzak controlling him for the moment. Pietrzak postures up in Wallace's guard and throws a big left but Wallace blocks it. Wallace can't keep his opponent in guard - Pietrzak advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Bartek Pietrzak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pietrzak seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wallace does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Wallace tries to get to full guard but Pietrzak has control of the leg. Wallace trying to control here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace keeps trying to improve his position. Wallace is squirming around, avoiding Pietrzak's attempts to control the action. Pietrzak working away from the top, dropping strikes. Wallace wants to hold on but Pietrzak pushes him away. Pietrzak prevents Wallace from getting the reversal. Wallace taking shots to the head.
Wallace is rocked! Pietrzak drops a big elbow. That's hurt Wallace! More shots from Pietrzak and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bartek Pietrzak! Bartek Pietrzak retains his bantamweight title! A relieved looking Bartek Pietrzak thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
