Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Len Camacho! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Drew Jordan! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Camacho misses with an attempted mid kick.
Camacho looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Jordan is pulling down on Camacho's head. It's preventing any offense from Camacho, at least for the moment. Jordan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Camacho trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jordan's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Camacho trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jordan has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Jordan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jordan is landing with some decent strikes but Camacho is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Camacho is squirming around, avoiding Jordan's attempts to control the action. Jordan looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Camacho really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Camacho wants to hold on but Jordan pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jordan putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Jordan controlling the position easily from mount. Camacho is wriggling around trying to escape.
Camacho is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jordan controlling his opponent. Jordan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Jordan with good strikes from the mount here! Camacho tries to hold on but Jordan pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Camacho throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Camacho is squirming around, avoiding Jordan's attempts to control the action. Jordan working for a submission but Camacho is keeping him at bay. Jordan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Camacho is looking to escape. Jordan connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jordan controlling the position easily from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Drew Jordan dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A head kick misses from Camacho. Jordan tries a head kick but it misses.
Jordan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Jordan working the head and body with strikes. Jordan wants to control but Camacho is keeping him busy. Camacho is looking for a sweep. Jordan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Jordan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Camacho is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jordan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jordan's back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jordan trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. A lull in the action here.
Camacho is trying to stick to Jordan's back but Jordan is turning into Camacho. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Camacho's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Jordan. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jordan's corner is telling him to maintain position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Jordan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Drew Jordan wasn't active enough on the ground. Camacho fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jordan sprawls well initially but Camacho persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Jordan trying to control from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Camacho not landing any meaningful shots this time. Camacho stalling. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Camacho stops Jordan from getting back to his feet.
Drew Jordan has got the better of the ground game so far. Jordan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Camacho is working away from the top position though.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Drew Jordan was stalling too much, according to the referee. Camacho wants to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Camacho has his takedown stuffed and Jordan holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Camacho digs a right hand underneath Jordan's ribcage. Jordan let out a lung full of air as it connected. Camacho is looking to break free of the clinch but Jordan has double underhooks. Jordan decides to pull guard. Jordan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Camacho is one step ahead there. Camacho drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jordan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Camacho has Jordan in his guard. Jordan working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jordan wanted to stand there but Camacho had control of the position. Jordan pushing down on Camacho's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Jordan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Camacho keeps working. Camacho slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jordan controlling from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Drew Jordan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Jordan drives through with a takedown into Camacho's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Camacho is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Camacho has his foot on Jordan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jordan works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jordan scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Jordan content to stall in guard here. Jordan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Camacho will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jordan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jordan stuffs the takedown attempt from Camacho. Camacho gets slowly back to his feet. Jordan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Camacho! Jordan working away. Jordan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Camacho, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Let's hope that Jordan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Camacho can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jordan lands a decent elbow from side control. Jordan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Camacho has escaped the position, nice work there. Jordan wants to stand but Camacho is controlling his arm. Jordan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jordan has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Camacho will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jordan moves into the clinch. Camacho successfully pulls guard.
Camacho being controlled here, momentarily. Jordan wants to stand but Camacho is controlling his posture from full guard. Len Camacho has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Drew Jordan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Camacho wants to sweep but no luck.
